District 5 continues to be resilient. Summer has come and gone and fall is upon us. As we look back on the last 90 days in the SFH home market we found that sales are still quite strong in this district. The figures have outpaced last year’s numbers during the same time period, with the exception of August. What could be the impetus—the historically low interest rates? Or possibly it’s the pent-up demand from buyers?  It’s hard to pinpoint exactly, but you can make your own conclusion, here are the stats:

2011
37 sales in June — average 48 DOM
30 sales in July  — average 46 DOM
23 sales in Aug — average 46 DOM

2010
29 sales in June — average 56 DOM
20 sales in July  — average 48 DOM
27 sales in Aug — average 56 DOM

As we head into winter, which tends to be a slower selling season, it’ll be interesting to see if the momentum in this highly sought after district continues.
